The city of South Jordan lies in the Salt Lake Valley and is located 20 minutes southwest of Salt Lake City. The Jordan River flows through a section of the city and gives the city its name. South Jordan was settled in 1859 by Mormon pioneer Alexander Beckstead, a blacksmith from Canada.

The population is divided up into 14,333 households out of which 76.5% are married couples living together, 46.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, and 14.1% are considered non-families.

Many people consider moving to South Jordan because you can get a newer home at a much less expensive price than many other parts of the Salt Lake Valley. A large number of these properties are found in the huge master planned community Daybreak. Daybreak is part of an enourmouse PUD. It has parks, fitness centers, splash pads, and even man made lakes. The lots in Daybreak are small, but there are lots of common areas and open space. The Home Owners Fee for Daybreak is around $80 a month for single family homes, and $160 for the townhouses.

South Jordan Condos for Sale - If you want a nicer home, but don't want to bother maintaining a yard then a South Jordan condo might be for you. South Jordan has plenty of Condominiums for sale in their Daybreak community. Condos are also found at a few other SJ communities like Wyngate, The Bluffs at Oquirrh, and Gable at Sterling Village.
