Sanpete County is right smack dab in the middle of the Utah. According to Wikipedia, the 2000 the population was 22,763 and by 2005 was estimated at 24,044. It was possibly named for a Ute Indian chief named San Pitch, which was corrupted to Sanpete. Its county seat is in Manti and its largest city is Ephraim Utah, Home of Snow College.
