The city of Bountiful has grown substantially over the past few decades and its population is near 50,000. Many thought that the area had run out of residential building land, but developers found a way to continue to build on the higher, steeper, mountainside. About Bountiful Utah:

The City of Bountiful was the second settlement to be established after the arrival of the Mormon Pioneers in the area. It was originally known as Sessions Settlement or North Canyon Ward, but was re-christened Bountiful in 1855 after a city in the Book of Mormon. Because of its connections to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), many of the residents are members of the church. The city is located on the benches of the Wasatch Mountains which overlook the city to the East. In honor of its heritage, the city maintains a delightful Main Street which is home to many locally-owned and run shops.

Because of its age, Bountiful is great if you are looking for a beautifully established community. The current population is approximately 42, 500 with population density at 3,065.3 per square mile and an annual growth rate around 3 percent. To serve the sizable population, there are many different schools in the area including 10 elementary schools, 4 junior high schools, and 3 high schools. There are also a variety of grocery stores, banks and restaurants to choose from. The city is home to mostly middle and lower-middle class households with a median income of $55,993 for households and $62,905 for families.

Bountiful is just minutes away from Salt Lake City, Utah’s largest city and is a great place to live for those who work in or around the city because of its easy commute distance and many citizens do just that. While the short distance to Salt Lake City makes it easy to enjoy the many attractions there, Bountiful does have its own attractions including the Bountiful Utah Temple, Bountiful Ridge Golf Course, Mueller Park Canyon, Bountiful Davis Art Centre, Tree Farm Trail, the skate park and recreation center, and the famous Nielson’s Frozen Custard.
